How about some Blues...
Well the cough and cold the children have had has finally got me, so I didn't get a lot done with my day off this week... I did however find this extraordinary video of a hero of mine the great Buddy Guy...
This is an extra long version and for good reason, just keep watching... he's a security guard's nightmare I'm sure but so big hearted...
This is one artist I've just got to get to see at some point, he's sings and plays with such joy and passion, you can see just how much he loves what he does... what a great way to be!
I just got his latest album this week too 'Living Proof' the title track is '74 years young'. Good ole Buddy, he'll always be young!

Fabulous! I used to listen to a lot of blues but somewhere along the line I sidestepped into a more neofolk orientation. Listening to these makes me want to backtrack a little!
ReplyDeleteI, too, used to listen to the blues a lot, but haven't for ages. Thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteLOVING Buddy Guy.
ReplyDeleteI came over here from a mermaid in the attic, after seeing the beautiful bird you sent her. Glad to have found you, and congratulations on reaching your first blogging birthday. I've decided to do a birthday give-away when I get there myself.
And different media very much influence my style. In oils, I'm big and bold and messy (messy all around the canvas; not necessarily on it) and everything hangs loose. When I do ink or pencil sketches I'm slow, deliberate and small, measuring everything before I make a mark - too tight, my husband thinks. I enjoy the contrast, but it means preparatory sketches are a bit redundant for me.
